Ma Mole is stuck at home, too scared to drive because she's worried that her accelerator might be faulty. Can Toyota put us on the road to sorting the problem out?

Toyota: My name is (name). You're through to Toyota. How can I help?

Mktg: I'm calling about this recall issue. My mum has a 2006 Toyota Yaris and I'm looking for more information.

Toyota: Has she experienced a problem with the pedal?

Mktg: She is unsure, but her car has been sat in the driveway since she found out about this.

Toyota: What she would need to do is drive it to the nearest Toyota centre. I'll also give you a head office number.

Mktg: She's been trying to accelerate as little as possible. Is that the right thing to do?

Toyota: To be honest, the right thing to do is not to use the car.

Mktg: Will Toyota pick it up?

Toyota: They might, but, obviously, if you're in a position to assist, as long as you keep to an extremely moderate speed that should be fine.

Mktg: But why would it be safe for me to drive it?
