Landscape Industry Certified-Industry Certification under One Brand

This year marks the beginning of a new era in the Professional Landcare Network's (PLANET's) certification program. Now, instead of having a myriad of letters to signify an individual's certification, there is one brand. PLANET and its International Certification Council (ICC) announced that as of January 2010, all PLANET-certified individuals will now be called Landscape Industry Certified. If you've previously been certified by PLANET, your new designation is now Landscape Industry Certified.

The new brand name, Landscape Industry Certified, consolidates specialties of the green industry certification under one umbrella. Now, everyone who is PLANET certified will be identified with this universal title. "Our number one goal with the branding effort was to come up with a brand that would fit the needs of all certification stakeholders," said ICC Chair Michael Becker, Landscape Industry Certified Manager. "This was no easy task."

Landscape Industry Certified speaks very clearly to the end user. No longer will there be lengthy explanations about what the acronyms behind a signature mean. It also has universal appeal as the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) has adopted the new brand name and logo for its professional development program. This will pave the way for broader recognition of industry certification.
