2009 SOCIAL MEDIA STATS

According to Facebook statistics (facebook.com/press/info.php?statistics), Facebook went from nearly 1 million active users in December 2004 to more than 350 million in December 2009.

Fifty percent of users check in on any given day, and the average person spends 55 minutes per day on the site. More than 65 million active users access the site through mobile devices. In terms of international reach, 70 percent of Facebook participants are from outside the United States.
