Kenneth Avila, a senior economics and legal studies major, led Northwestern University (Ill.) with a .298 batting average in 2009 while splitting time between center field and designated hitter. The Corpus Christi, Texas, native also earned a 2009 Academic All-Big Ten selection and helped raise $10,000 for a New York elementary school through the help of J.P Morgan. He holds a 3.47 cumulative GPA.

Robert Griffin III, a sophomore political science major, accounted for a school-record 28 touchdowns (15 passing, 13 rushing) as a true freshman quarterback at Baylor University (Texas) in 2008. Griffin tore his right anterior cruciate ligament against visiting Northwestern State University on Sept. 26 and missed the final nine games of the 2009 season. The Cooperas Cove, Texas, native speaks at elementary schools and participates in Food For Families canned food drives. He has a 3.58 cumulative GPA.

Evans Kosgei, a junior computer science and engineering major at Lehigh University (Pa.), placed second at the 2009 Patriot League Cross Country Championship. Kosegi, the first Lehigh runner to earn Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year honors, has made the dean's list--which requires a minimum 3.60 GPA--every semester of his undergraduate career. The Moiben, Kenya, native also mentors 10 young men from his homeland. He holds a 3.95 cumulative GPA.

Justin Kremer, a senior art major, competed in the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Arizona State University's 1,600-meter relay team. Kremer earned Academic All-Pac 10 honors in the 2009 outdoor season. The Grand Canyon, Ariz., native is a member of ASU's student-athlete advisory committee. He holds a 3.93 cumulative GPA.

Roman Martinez, a senior business administration major, led the University of New Mexico's basketball team in 3-point percentage and ranked second in scoring in 35 games at forward in the 2009-10 season.
