Disney Ice Kingdom Still an Enchanting Adventure

To the delight of audiences of all ages, Feld Entertainment has been fuming out impeccable productions of Disney on Ice for nearly 30 years. Featuring well-loved characters that seem to become more endearing with the passage of time, as well as new ones that---we have a feeling--also will be around for quite a while, the Felds seem to have figured out the formula for telling entertaining stories that at once have little boys believing in heroes, young girls feeling like princesses, and adults swept up in the magic. What better way to appreciate life's little surprises than experiencing a performance entitled, simply, "Celebrations"?

From the first scene of the "Merry Unbirthday" party, which has Mickey swiping the Mad Hatter's hat and leading to a wild and wacky chase including Alice in Wonderland, the White Rabbit, and Tweedledee and Tweedledum, to the "Aloha Adventure" with Lilo and Stitch joining Mickey and the gang on their Hawaiian holiday, the numbers are loaded with eye-catching costumes, impressive choreography, and spectacular special effects. In fact, the dazzling luau act literally brought us fire on ice as the skaters set the surface ablaze during their fire dance. During "Sweeping Surprises" in a sequence reminiscent of the Radio City Rockettes, Mickey dons a magic hat and enchants a little broom to sweep the room. Suddenly, there are brooms everywhere--twirling, spinning, and moving in perfect unison.

In addition to being taken through the holidays--including "Tricky Treatin' Halloween" with Jack Skellington leading a spooky crew of Disney villains (Cruella de Vii, Captain Hook, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, etc. …
