Our commitment to Africa and its people has remained through the good times as well as the more challenging times; our brands have been part of innumerable celebrations, big and small, across the continent.

Diageo Africa's business is about local companies and local people, operating at Diageo global standards in 29 countries. Over time our commitment has continued to grow, as has our appreciation of the broader contribution we can make.

Among others, Guinness Nigeria, Guinness Ghana, Guinness Cameroun, east african breweries ltd and brandhouse have broad CSR programmes in a number of key areas:

* enabling access to potable water

* investing in people and professional skills

* promoting responsible behaviours around alcohol

* providing safe alternatives to illicit alcohol

* local sourcing of raw materials: agriculture and related supply chains

* educating and providing access to treatment for HIV/Aids and malaria

* protecting the environment
