Brands Back Sustainable Show at Fashion Week

Monsoon, Ecover and Lavazza are among the brands to have sponsored London Fashion Week's first sustainable fashion show.

The show, held in partnership with START, an initiative by the Prince's Charities Foundation to celebrate sustainable living, was held on Friday (17 September), the first day of London Fashion Week.

The activity supports START's 'A garden party to make a difference' This event opened the gardens of Clarence House, Marlborough House and Lancaster House to the public in a drive to raise awareness of sustainability through music, comedy and fashion.

Supermodel Erin O'Connor, who participated in the show, said: 'Merging style and conscience has never been so important and valued at London Fashion Week.'

In addition, O'Connor, who is also vice-chairwoman of Fashion Week, has teamed up with Rimmel to encourage models to use the brand's products at London Fashion Week.

Rimmel has a furnished make-up room in O'Connor's 'Model Sanctuary'. The Marks & Spencer model set up the Sanctuary to provide models with an area where they can relax between shows and get guidance on fitness and nutrition. …
