The Media Education Association will hold a major Media Literacy Conference on the 19th and 20th November this year, at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster. Jointly organised by the MEA and the Centre for the Study of Children, Youth and Media at the Institute of Education, London, the conference aims to bring together practitioners at all levels of the 319 education system with researchers in education, literacy and media technology to share information, evidence and ideas about media teaching and learning.

The keynote speaker will be Henry Jenkins (University of Southern California) on 'Remixing the Canon: the 'messy' business of teaching reading in a participatory culture', whilst plenary sessions on 'Education or Regulation?' ,'Media Literacy in the Classroom' and 'iPolitics? Political literacy in the new media age' will be led by a range of speakers including David Buckingham and Andrew Burn (Institute of Education, London) and Peter Bazalgette (ex-Endemol). …
