You would expect workers in the hospitality industry to be, well, hospitable. But the manager of the Super 8 Motel in Grayville, Illinois, Chris Ellerman, far surpassed "hospitable" in his recent efforts to help a motel guest.

Halina Mandecki had come from Minooka, near Chicago, to Grayville to have some dental work done; she had two appointments, one in the morning and one at 2:30 in the afternoon. However, when she was ready to leave for her morning appointment, she found that her car had been stolen. She reported it to Ellerman, who called the police and got the ball rolling to find it. Then, he offered not only to drive Mandecki to her first dentist's appointment, but to try to secure her a rental car to use for the second appointment and her trip home. Unfortunately, though, there were no one-way rentals available, only those that had to be returned in Grayville. …
