The coupon site's Super Bowl spot by Crispin Porter + Bogusky was unsurprisingly edgy, but many felt it went too far by using the plight of Tibet as the centerpiece of a joke, including our columnist Heidi Minx.

It's a good example of greed and avarice gone a step too far. As a group, they agreed that it was OK to marginalize the genocide of a nation (one that China pretends never existed), just so long as it created enough buzz to help Groupon venture capital sharks push their impending IPO bidding war from the $6 billion Google offered to the $15 billion they are trying to get.... I vote that they are irreparably harmed. Using charity as a shield for incredible self gain is wrong on many levels, but they are too clueless to get that.... People have to be sure not to reward that kind of behavior. I think their stock offering will/should fail--[or] the country is in a deeper hole than I thought. PATRICK MAHONEY
