The American Red Cross, the nation's largest provider of first aid and CPR/AED training, recently launched its next generation of health and safety training, which features a two-year certification for first aid and CPR/AED training, and other cost-and time-saving benefits for course takers and instructors.

The first program to be released in the series is the "First Aid/CPR/AED" program, which is designed to train individuals in workplaces and communities to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illness until advanced medical personnel arrives. The program incorporates the latest science, meets OSHA guidelines, and now offers:

* Two-year certification with free digital refreshers;

* Choice of free digital or affordable print course materials for instructors and participants;

* Concise, learner-centered course design with more hands-on skill practice; and

* An online learning center that allows individuals to register for courses and instructors to manage course records and print certificates.

With so many different training options and materials, the new Red Cross program provides more flexibility for parks and recreation organizations that often have staff in a variety of locations and work environments. …
