ISM 2011 to Highlight Federal Collaboration Efforts

The 44th annual IT Solutions Management for Human Services (ISM) conference is being held in Austin, TX on August 14-17 at the Hilton Austin. The theme, "Enabling Change: Deep in the Heart of Technology," speaks directly to the changes driven by Affordable Care Act (ACA) and other key federal legislation. Policymakers from the highest levels of federal government will kick off the conference on Monday by discussing the cross-program impact of the ACA and the opportunities to connect health care reform with existing human service programs through policy and information systems planning.

The final day of the conference, has been dubbed "Federal Day." A panel of federal State System Directors from CMS, FNS, ACF and OCSE has been invited to present new administrative changes focused on improving APD and RFP approval--procurement and cost allocation processes that have often stymied state and local governments in the past. This panel will be followed by an informative group of state presenters who have been working on a broad-based "Contact Center" concept in partnership with FNS, with a focus on improving agency interaction with clients. …
