The American Association of SNAP Directors is holding its annual education conference October 9-12, 2011, in Columbus, Ohio. This event is a unique opportunity for all SNAP stakeholders to meet face-to-face and exchange information and best practices. The AASD board has planned a rich agenda for this years conference and is optimistic that attendance from state directors, federal and advocate partners, and vendors will be good. The agenda includes numerous timely and informative workshops, including Is Training Taxing Your Time and Money? Try Technology; Discovering Best Practices in the World of Payment Accuracy and Valid Negative Actions; Keeping Your Program on Course in a State-Supervised/County-Administered Program; Utah's myCase System; Senior Outreach and the AARP Drive to End Hunger; How Will/Can/Should Health Care Reform Changes to Medicaid Impact SNAP?; Churning--We Don't Mean Butter; "Research You Can Use in a SNAP--Job Search and Employment Strategies for Hard-to-Serve Populations: Lessons Learned from the Field; Joint SNAP Policy/QC Current Issues; State Policy/QC Collaboration Panel; Collaborating to Bring SNAP-Ed to Families; and Increasing Access for Seniors to Healthy Food and Support.
