Searchable database

The 411: The U.S. Department of Labor's America's Career InfoNet provides a database of certifications; they are searchable by certification name, certifying organization, occupation and industry. Once a seeker has chosen the certification he or she would like more information about, he or she can get details such as exams required and the renewal processes. The site also gives advice on how to highlight that credential on resumes and during interviews, after the certification has been obtained.
