The Special Libraries Association (SLA) announced the winners of its election. Deb Hunt is the new president-elect; Debbie Schachter is chapter cabinet chair-elect; Ann Koopman is division cabinet chair-elect; Marilyn Bromley and Hal Kirkwood are directors. All the new board members will begin their terms on Jan. 1, 2012.

Hunt has been a member since 1986 and has served as director on the board of directors, chaired the creation and update of 23 Things, and served on the Information Ethics Advisory Council. Currently, she is chair of the Leadership and Management Division nominating committee and serves on the Professional Development Advisory Council. She received the Presidential Citation in 2008 and was awarded the Karen J. Switt Leadership Award in 2009. She is a member of the Association of Independent Information Professionals and served on the board of directors. She was a senior information specialist at the Exploratorium. Hunt has worked and consulted in different types of libraries.

Currently, Schachter is the director of learning resources at Douglas College in New Westminster, British Columbia. Schachter has been active in SLA through the Western Canada chapter serving in various positions including chapter president. She also writes a column in SLA's Information Outlook magazine on business and management issues and lectures on a variety of topics.

Currently, Koopman is manager of Thomas Jefferson University library's web service, JEFFLINE. …
