I admit it. I'm an online news junkie. I enjoy tracking and sharing news, no matter how big or how small the story is. And I always rejoice when I find an innovative gem that is worth sharing.

A case in point is LexisNexis Risk Solutions, which launched its Fraud of the Day Forum in mid-January. The site targets news and commentary for government officials about the latest fraud schemes. Larry Benson, the director of strategic alliances for Revenue Discovery and Recovery at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, provided his insights about a case in Illinois involving a mother-and-son team accused of tax return fraud and drug trafficking. While the case is interesting, I'm more drawn to the concept of getting information to the right people at the right time.

Channeling information to the right people at the right time is what we're all doing in one way or the other. We're still in the throes of establishing the rules for this wild, wild web, whether it's determining the parameters for how much content a company can legally digitize ("Divide and Conquer: Update on the Google Books Lawsuit," page 1) or when a company can legally monitor an employee's email ("Monitoring Employee Online Activity," page 32). …
