Shape the Future at the Research Foundation Think Tank

The IABC Research Foundation is taking a new approach to identifying new and emerging issues for future research that will culminate with a Think Tank forum at the World Conference in Chicago on Sunday, 24 June. Conference attenders who have a passion for exploring communication issues and a desire to help shape the future of the profession are invited to participate. Diane Gayeski, Ph.D., a leader of the foundation's research advisory panel and dean of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, will moderate the event.

The Research Foundation started the topic identification process in January with online brainstorming sessions conducted with Concept Systems, the company that hosted the website for the brainstorming, sorting and rating, and completed the final concept mapping. The approach and methodology engaged a group composed of members from the research advisory panel and CW editorial advisory panel, who sought to identify and organize topics of relevance to communicators. A specially selected topic identification group then analyzed the initial data. The results were compiled into visual maps and reports that will be used to guide the Think Tank event and inform decision making. …
