I love the outdoors but like to keep it out of my tent. I lay down a "wipe your paws" doormat in the dirt, mandate that shoes go on a rug just inside the tent, and pack a brush and dustpan. Keeps the pine needles down and my spirits up.

Warm Water is a godsend. Set a metal bucket next to the campfire and you'll have warm water for washing your face before bed. In the morning, set buckets in the sun, and after a day of hiking, you'll return to warm water.
