Edinburgh Art Festival runs from 2 August to 2 September, with new commissions by Kevin Harman, Callum Innes, Andrew Miller, Susan Philipsz, Anthony Schrag, Emily Speed and The House of Fairy Tales, and major exhibitions by the likes of Philip Guston, Donald Judd, Robert Kusmirovski, Tim Rollins & KOS and Dieter Roth.

DaDaFest, the festival of disability and deaf arts, takes place in north-west England from 13 July to 2 September. This, the eleventh installment of the festival, includes the major exhibition 'Niet Normaal: Difference on Display', based on a similarly titled landmark exhibition at Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam in late 2009, the curator of which, Ine Gervers, is co-curating the Bluecoat show with the festival's artistic director Garry Robson. One of the most memorable curatorial interventions in the Amsterdam show saw visitors being given DNA tests screening for genetic risks at the entrance to the exhibition - although the show's overall attendance of 50,000 visitors perhaps refl ected the fact that the DNA test was optional. …
