At a 7-Eleven in Orlando, Florida, a customer foiled a robbery on June 7, by kicking a knife out of the robber's hand. Orange County deputies suspect that the would-be robber may have been responsible for several other robberies in the Central Florida area, and are crediting the anonymous man with thwarting the attempted robbery.


According to CFNews 13, surveillance video shows a man with his face covered by a white bandanna entering the 7-Eleven at approximately 2 a.m. He began pointing a knife at the store clerk. The customer, witnessing what was taking place, grabbed a bottle of wine from a rack behind him.

He then confronted the robber, kicked the knife out of his hand, and chased him out of the store. "He was like 'give me all of your money.' And the clerk was like throwing all the money on the thing, and I was like 'are you serious?"' the customer told WDBO. com's Ken Tyndall.

"Heroic, yes, but it could have been dangerous," said Jeff Williamson, with the Orange County Sheriff's Office. "Everyone loves a good hero, the guy who has nothing in his hands who can disarm someone.

However, we suggest that no one approach and certainly not ... [confront] an armed person."

The same 7-Eleven had been robbed just one month earlier, and police believe it may have been the same robber involved.

"Same M.O., robbery with a knife, so we believe he is the suspect in three, if not more, robberies in the Central Florida area," said Williamson. …
