Scheduler Makes Planning for APHA's Annual Meeting Easy

With thousands of scientific and poster sessions, APHA's 140th Annual Meeting offers so many attractions that it can be hard to choose what to attend.

APHA's solution is the personal scheduler, a planning tool that allows attendees to browse events scheduled for the meeting, create their own schedule of events, check it for conflicts and record notes. The online scheduler is a convenient way to mark and remember which of the sessions to attend.

The program for the Annual Meeting, which will be held Oct. 27-31 in San Francisco, is online now at www.apha.org/meetings/AnnualMeeting. Attendees will have access to the personal scheduler after they register for the meeting, at which point they can log in and start making their Annual Meeting plans.

The Annual Meeting theme this year is "Prevention and Wellness Across the Life Span." Many sessions will focus on the theme, but others are of general public health interest.

From the opening session to the closing session, the Annual Meeting will offer a nearly nonstop lineup of public health, events, scientific sessions and celebrations. More than 1,000 scientific sessions will be held, with more than 6,000 papers being presented.

"The Annual Meeting will have something for everyone," said T.J. McCabe, CMP, APHA's director of convention services. "The topics presented are relevant to everyone from federal government regulators to local health department officials, and the opportunity to meet with and talk to experts from across the nation is unparalleled. …
