With a frightening number of players succumbing to concussions at all levels of play, from youth leagues right on up to the NCAA and NFL, football has become a real red flag for responsible parents. Yes, you're thrilled that Junior wants to stay active instead of lounging 24/7, but you're also mindful that repeated concussions--which are becoming less and less of a rarity--can have long-term mental health implications. We've found that a viable solution to this dilemma is flag football, which, of course, has been popular on college campuses and in men's rec leagues for years. Now, though, one finds more and more organized teams on the youth level-and we're all the better for it.

Like any derivative version of an established game, the parameters for flag football remain flexible. New rules and regulations come and go easily. So, it's no surprise that the folks at Hasbro have devised what they say just might be the next generation of flag football.
