iPad Rules Keep Students Secure, Respectful

Integrating new technology into the classroom has been on educators minds quite a bit over the last few years, as new gadgets emerge and the tech-savvy youth gets younger and younger. Elementary students come equipped with iPbones and 4-year-olds have mastered Angry Birds on their parents' tablets before the adults even know how to download the app.

In order to keep up with the technological interests of the students we teach, it's imperative that schools step up their gadget game and plug in. But where technology and students go, trouble--in the form of cyber bullying or viewing inappropriate content--often follows. One principal discussed with isource. corn the rules he has his students abide by when using the iPads the school provides to them. Here are just a few of his keys to success:

1. Stick with the class: If iPads are being used for a lesson, everyone should have the same screen. Students are to stay in the application their teachers are instructing on or with, or privileges are revoked. …
