The Seventh International AAAI Conference on Weblogs and Social Media will be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, July 8--11 This interdisciplinary conference brings together researchers working at the nexus of computer science and the social sciences, with work drawing upon network science, machine learning, computational linguistics, sociology and communication. The broad goal of ICWSM is to increase understanding of social media in all its incarnations.

For ICWSM-13, in addition to a lively program of technical talks and posters, and invited presentations, the main conference will include a selection of keynote talks from prominent social scientists and technologists, including Fernanda Viegas and Martin Wattenberg (leaders of Google's Big Picture Visualization Research Group, Cambridge, Massachusetts) and David Lazer (director of the program on networked governance (PNG) and associate professor of public policy at Harvard University). ICWSM-13 will also hold a workshops and tutorials day on July 11, just after the main conference.

Tutorials will be taught by Riki Conrey (Advanced Methods for Collecting Social Science Data in the Social Media Field), Greg Ver Steeg and Aram Galstyan (Information-Theoretic Tools for Social Media Analysis), Amit Sheth, Patrick Meier, Carlos Castillo, and Hemant Purohit (Crisis Mapping, Citizen Sensing, and Social Media Analytics: Leveraging Citizen Roles for Crisis Response), Matteo Magnani and Luca Rossi (Multiple Network Models for Complex Online Social Network Analysis), and Muhammad Ahmad and Jaideep Srivastava (Pulse of Virtual Worlds: Behavioral Mining and SNA in Massive Online Games). …
