Stone joined Cengage Learning earlier this year after more than 2 decades at Pearson, where he held positions in editorial, marketing, technology, and sales. Most recently, he had been chief sales officer of the Higher Education unit since 2011.

In his new role, Stone is responsible for leading all of the sales and marketing efforts within Cengage Learning. "The opportunity to oversee sales and marketing working together in one, fully integrated go-to-market team is among the main reasons I chose to join Cengage Learning, and I think it represents an important competitive advantage in our changing industry," he says.

Stone says that his biggest challenge coming on board was learning as much as he could about the resources and assets within Cengage Learning so he can best leverage them in the marketplace. …
