Keith Robertson was born into one of those households where music was a part of life: 'My family have always had a piano in the house and my sisters and I were very fortunate to have piano lessons from a very young age.'

In his teens he moved to other instruments, notably guitar and alto sax: 'I think I saw them at the time as more marketable than classical piano to friends and, perhaps, a few girls I fancied at the time!

However, the piano was clearly in his blood: 'I've always found myself drawn to music with a strong piano component. Because of my involvement with the instrument from quite a young age, I suppose the sound of the piano is quite a deep part of me and I'm thankful I've been able to start playing again recently.'

As far as the discs used in the design and tuning of products, A few years ago Linn were very fortunate to work with Sir Charles Mackerras, Artur Pizarro and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra (SCO) on their recording of Beethoven's Piano Concertos Nos 3,4, and 5. …
