Joe Cho moved to Dallas from South Korea over 30 years ago and worked his way up to store manager at a locally run grocery store. Cho was in the office of Pepe's Grocery & Deli when he spotted gunmen with bandannas on their faces entering the store shortly before closing time. The masked, armed hoodlums demanded money from the cashier. Cho immediately retrieved his .38-caliber revolver and ran out to confront the robbers. Clio fired at the men, who returned lire. After a brief shootout, the robbers fled the store without any money. Fortunately, neither Cho nor any of his employees were injured during the attempted robbery. Cho immediately dialed 911 to report the crime. Cho recalled for the Dallas Morning News what he told the 911 operator. "I said, 'Hey, we got robbed, I need police as soon as possible.'" What happened next shocked Cho almost as much as the initial armed robbery. …
