The Risk Management Association is marking the 100th year of serving its members. Throughout the celebration, The RMA Journal is highlighting key moments in RMA history in this space each month.

As it headed into its second century, RMA recently welcomed a new chair, Nancy Foster, chief risk officer at Park Sterling Bank in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Upon taking on her leadership role, Foster spoke about what RMA has meant to her over the years. Among the many benefits she cited, this one stood out: "I have taken many ideas back to my organizations from RMA's exemplary practices, which range from financial reporting to strategic planning to branding."

Here's what some past board chairs have had to say about RMA:
