ACTE PARTICIPATED IN A NUMBER OF OUTREACH ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE

year to engage media in CTE awareness. A highlight of the year's activities was the facilitation of a media briefing for Washington, D.C.-based education policy reporters to provide an overview of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act. This event allowed members of the media to gain an advanced understanding of the law as Congress begins reauthorization efforts.

ACTE was featured in many publications and outlets, including POLITICO Pro, Education Week, NPR, U.S. News and World Report, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and District Administration. In addition, ACTE successfully placed two letters to the editor--one in the Baltimore Sun, and another in Education Week.

Lastly, ACTE was featured as a guest regularly on Education Talk Radio, an online radio program that discusses education issues, trends and innovations from across the country. One highlight from the year was a program featuring the 2014 ACTE Teacher of the Year, Tara Berescik, who discussed her ag ed program and shared best practices with listeners.
