It is with great sadness that I inform the EP family about the loss of a great physician and friend, Vidya Bhushan Gupta, MD, MPH, FAAP. Bhushan passed away tragically on December 12, 2014 from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis which progressed rapidly from his initial diagnosis in 2012. Despite his hope for a lung transplant, just days before his death, he was number one on the regional transplant list but, regrettably, time ran out.

Bhushan was first and foremost a compassionate human being who loved life and was fiercely proud of his wife, a pediatrician, and his two children. He lived long enough to see the birth of his first grandson in August of this year, an event which filled him with great joy.

Vidya Bhushan Gupta, MD was a noted physician, scholar, and a member of the faculty at New York Medical College. He was the author of the book No Apologies for Ritalin, which Exceptional Parent was proud to publish. His work with children on the autism spectrum was likewise exemplary. …
