AUSTRALIAN WINE LABEL BANROCK STATION is a company focused on conservation. Their charitable trust's goal is to "support internationally and nationally recognized conservation organizations to further their objectives in tackling global environmental issues such as climate change, water conservation, ecosystem loss and species loss" with a particular interest in habitat restoration. They have funded more than 95 conservation projects in 13 countries.

American Forests is pleased to be Banrock Station's first North American partner, joining forces with them last year for the benefit of our Endangered Western Forests initiative. This initiative aims to protect and restore a very special habitat--the high-elevation whitebark pine ecosystem of the Greater Yellowstone Area. The future of whitebark pine is threatened by mountain pine beetles, invasive disease and climate change. Since 2012, American Forests has been creating replicable strategies for protecting and restoring these forests, including using pheromone patches to protect heathy whitebarks from mountain pine beetles and educating the public about the importance of this ecosystem, which is a source of water to at least 13 states.

Last year, with Banrock's help, we were not only able to get nearly 5,500 more pheromone patches to trees in need of protection, but were also able to expand our strategy to include a number of new restoration activities. …
