When LexisNexis Legal & Professional acquired Moreover Technologies, Inc. in October 2014, one of its first tasks was to integrate the media management company's news monitoring and distribution service with its own news and business information to create a single resource for gathering, analyzing, and sharing current events. LexisNexis Newsdesk launched in April 2015, and this fall it's adding content from Factiva; it will integrate the Law360 news source and the CourtLink research tool by the end of this year.

LexisNexis sees librarians and marketers in law firms as its most common Newsdesk users, but the solution is designed to help any legal professional, especially those working in business strategy and corporate communications. Its collection of news and business information from around the world includes more than 80,000 open web news sites, more than 3 million social media feeds, and LexisNexis licensed content, all curated and indexed for simplified searching. Newsdesk can also be set up to ingest content a law firm subscribes to even if LexisNexis doesn't. Under the Search tab, users can select a content type to narrow their results, and content is available in 90-plus languages. …
