On the morning of his ninth birthday, Ted is disappointed to find that his parents are more interested in the ongoing election than they are in giving their son a new bike. The day gets worse at school where Ted is picked on by the class bully. He considers what he might do to combat such undeserved treatment if he had a little political clout. 'If I was the new prime minister I'd pass a law against that kind of behaviour right away.'

This is principally an amusing tale about the 'unfairness of life', however, ideas and information about politics--law making, the use of power, conspiracy theories--are fancifully woven through the story and there is a final scene worthy of 'Men in Black' or a Bond movie. …
