Up - Specsavers

The optician persuaded John Cleese to revive his Basil Fawlty character for a TV ad. In the spot his car won't start, leading him to fetch a tree branch to give it a 'damn good thrashing'. He returns and whacks a police car before realising his error and making off, to illustrate that he 'Should've gone to Specsavers'.

Up - Disney

Disney UK has launched #HealthilyEverAfter, a campaign encouraging families to lead healthier lifestyles. A short brand film and six storytelling-led videos are to be broadcast across its own media platforms and key social channels. The push includes a partnership with the BritMums site.

Up - Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's planned acquisition of Argos continues apace. Argos owner Home Retail Group (HRG) is selling its DIY chain, Homebase, for pounds 340m to Australian conglomerate Wesfarmers. In effect, this clears the way for Sainsbury's to make a fresh bid for Argos, after its earlier attempts to buy HRG for more than pounds 1bn were rejected.

Twitter's share price tumbled and the internet grumbled when it emerged that the platform was considering lengthening tweet limits from 140 to 10,000 characters. …
