Gaining or Losing Letters

Article excerpt

A word can gain or lose one or more letters to make another word. The simplest form of this genre is when the word gains or loses a single letter.

Alternatively, a word may gain or lose all of a particular type of letter such as dotted letters, curved letters, doubled letters or Roman numeral letters.

The two words together may form a logical configuration, in which case they are marked *
