Joyce Griggs gives us 50 minutes' worth of Percy Grainger's transcriptions and arrangements for saxophone ensemble of folksongs and compositions by Bachs JS and CPE, William Lawes, John Jenkins and Josquin Desprez, juxtaposed against a pair of Grainger's own works--The Immovable Do (1933-39), adapted for saxophone choir by Griggs from the composer's original unspecified scoring, and The Lonely Desert-Man Sees the Tents of the Happy Tribes (1949) for saxophone and piano.
