VIJAY PENDAKUR has been named dean of students at Cornell University, effective January 3. He is associate vice president for the Division of Student Affairs at California State University, Fullerton. Pendakur earned a bachelor's from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a master's from the University of California, San Diego and a doctorate from DePaul University.

JUDY MITCHELL has been named president of Joliet Junior College. She has been serving as interim president. Mitchell earned an associate from Joliet Junior College, a bachelor's and an MBA from Governors State University in Illinois, and a doctorate from National Louis University in Chicago.

JAMILLAH MOORE has been appointed president of Canada College in California. She had been serving as interim vice chancellor of educational services and planning for the San Mateo County Community College District. Moore holds a bachelor's and a master's from California State University, Sacramento, and a doctorate from the University of San Francisco.

GEORGE JOHNSON JR. has been named assistant vice president for communications and marketing at Claflin University. He was director of integrated marketing and public relations at Oakwood University in Alabama. Johnson earned a bachelor's from Washington Adventist University in Maryland.

GWENDOLYN GASTON has been named dean of nursing at Dallas Nursing Institute. She was director of nursing for the institution's Associate Degree of Nursing Programs. …
