Too late to book into Yosemite?

Is it too late to arrange a stay in YosemiteValley this summer? Possibly not, if you know how to work the angles.

The lodging in greatest demand consistsof the illustrious Ahwahnee Hotel, Yosemite Lodge (rooms and cabins), and the cabins at Curry Village. Yosemite Park & Curry Company opens its reservation lists a year and a day ahead, and many individuals regularly reserve rooms or cabins that early. Much later, some will change their plans--and the lodging goes back on the available list. In fact, there were rooms available in the Valley almost every day last summer--though often only at very short notice.

So, if you didn't reserve early enough toget first choice, here's a game plan:

Consider joining a tour. Tour groups goingto Yosemite on the days you plan to travel may still have space; ask your travel agent to check.

Hope for a cancellation. Individuals withunconfirmed (no deposit) reservations must mail in the required deposit or full payment no later than 14 days before arrival.
