Editing has long been a passion of mine, from when I was a girl reading and revising short stories, poems and essays written by friends and my mom; red-lining typos found in Tiger Beat and my college newspaper. My foray into industry publishing began during my time as a graduate student at The George Washington University. I took an editorial internship working with the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association and later was promoted into a role as Associate Editor for their magazine publication, the SGIA Journal. This experience afforded me the opportunity to learn much about the value ACTE, SGIA and other such associations provide the communities they serve.

Leaving SGIA in 2014, 1 worked these last few years for a boutique digital marketing agency writing and editing content for a wide range of clients, from local plumbers and lawn service companies to the Tulane University's School of Public Health and multinational consulting firms. I write like an editor. I edit like a writer. This in-the-trenches experience doing work for print and the web--proofreading, editing, writing, marketing--all of that led me here, to you, to Techniques, to CTE. …
