LISTEN AND LEARN: RMA's Podcast Program Enhances the Value Proposition for Members

THE RISK MANAGEMENT Association has started a podcast program to assist its members in their efforts to advance sound risk management principles. This is just one more way RMA is keeping its members informed, and it represents a new benefit for them in addition to opportunities for education, training, and networking throughout all stages of their careers.

The rise in digital media consumption on mobile and the increasing number of podcasts available have made the medium far more attractive to listeners. According to a report from comScore and audio network Wondery, almost 20% of U.S. adults between the ages of 18 and 49 listen to podcasts at least once a month.

Helga Houston, RMA's chair and chief risk officer at Huntington National Bank, said, "Listening to podcasts is another ideal way for young professionals to grow in their careers, and the podcasts offered by RMA are a valuable resource on the most important and critical issues facing the industry today."

More and more young professionals continue to lead busy lives and, with the proliferation of mobile technology such as smartphones and tablets, many are opting to hear and view news and entertainment on the go.

Taylor Palmer, an industry analyst at IBISWorld, noted, "RMA podcasts are a quick, easy, and informative way to get up-to-speed on important issues facing risk management professionals. Internal experts and trusted contributors at the top of their fields give the rundown on everything from the shifting regulatory landscape to the effects of corporate tax reform and the importance of a strong risk culture. …
