The town of Perinton (N.Y.) recently received a KUDOS Award from the National Recreation and Park Association in the category of Best Web Site Promoting Recreation (Class I). The town's site (www.perinton. org) was completely designed, serviced, and hosted by Logisoft Inc., a local computer software company. The company donated its services to Perinton.

Jim Smith, Perinton supervisor, praised both Logisoft's professional excellence and the recreation staff's commitment to offering outstanding programs to Perinton residents.

The NRPA KUDOS Awards annually recognize communities that expertly market their parks and recreation programs and services.

Timothy J. Cassidy, president of the Peoria (Ill.) Park District Board of Trustees, was the recipient of the Rhodell Owens Award at this year's Orchid and Onions Banquet.

Cassidy's leadership in the areas of public policy, preservation of natural resources, and public park development made him a natural for the award, which is given each year to one who has shown a history of commitment and achievement in the area of community beautification.

During his time with the Board, Cassidy has continued to value maintaining and enhancing the community's natural assets. He is currently focusing his attention on the maintenance and irrigation of the park district's golf courses and the beautification of a parcel of land formerly owned by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
