Data Harmony, Inc. Announces Release of Document Management Software

Data Harmony, Inc., a new company based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has announced the release of a new suite of document management software. The software, called Data Harmony, consists of modules designed to assist primary publishers, secondary publishers, corporate libraries, and records centers with creating, storing, updating, and reusing their full-text and bibliographic databases. The software handles variable-length textual data, and uses the extensible Markup Language (XML) to store and transmit data and to configure each database.
"Publishers who are moving into the Internet environment have a real need for next-generation systems such as Data Harmony," said Marjorie M.K. Hlava, president of Data Harmony, Inc. "Corporations introducing intranet solutions to their information systems will find this suite of software eases that transition."
There are three components to the Data Harmony suite. The first is an XML Intranet System (XIS) for document entry, editing, and viewing. The second is the Machine Aided Indexer (M.A.I.), a natural language processing tool that uses an expert system for interactive assignment of indexing terms to individual documents, as well as document retrieval when used in reverse. …
