Man with AR-15 Stops Violent Attack

The AR-15 has been in the news a lot lately as the anti-gun, left-wing media has continued to treat it as a threat to public safety and are working relentlessly to smear any AR-15 owner as a potential mass shooter. But a story out of Oswego Township, Illinois, showed us there are indeed AR-15 owners out there who have good intentions and that the AR-15 can be used as a non-violent deterrent. Patch.com reported on February 27 about a man who used an AR-15 to stop a violent attack without even firing the weapon. Police say a domestic dispute between two neighbors in an apartment complex escalated into a knife attack where one neighbor repeatedly stabbed another neighbor. The entire violent stabbing was witnessed by a third man named Dave Thomas. Thomas would later tell police that he saw blood all over the hallway and decided he had to help. Thomas, who teaches a concealed-carry course, ran back to his residence and grabbed his AR-15. Wielding the weapon, Thomas ran back to the scene of the violent attack and pointed his AR-15 at the attacker. Thomas told WGN-TV that he chose the AR-15 because it's a "bigger gun, I think a little more of an intimidation factor. Definitely played a part in him actually stopping." Thomas also told WGN-TV that the attacker stopped once he was staring down the barrel of an AR-15. Thomas said the suspect was a "half a breath away from getting his head blown off and he knew that.... That's why he put the knife down. …
