DR. WARREN BUCK has been appointed chancellor and dean of the University of Washington-Bothell effective in late summer. He is presently the director/principal investigator of Hampton University's Nuclear/High Energy Physics (NuHEP) Research Center of Excellence, a tenured full professor of physics at Hampton, and a member of the Theory Group at Jefferson Lab in Newport News, Va. Buck earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Morgan State University; and a master's degree and a doctorate, both in physics, and both from The College of William and Mary.


MAX BENAVIDEZ is the new assistant vice chancellor of university communications at the University of California-Los Angeles. He comes to UCLA from the California Institute of Technology, where he was director of media relations. Benavidez earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy and communications, and a master's degree in Latin American Studies and anthropology, both from UCLA.

DR. ADELL BROWN JR., is the new vice president of research, planning, community, and economic development at Mississippi Valley State University. He comes to MVSU after serving as assistant administrator and specialist in Agriculture for the Cooperative Extension Program at Southern University. Brown earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural business from Northeast Louisiana University; a master's in business administration from the University of Southwest Louisiana; and a doctorate in agriculture economics from Louisiana State University.
