Splish-splash, Erin Nancy Williams, 1, is taken a bath. Erin, who has Down syndrome, is a playful, social, and affectionate child, according to mom Jeri. Erin receives occupational, speech, and physical therapies, and loves going to music class with her dad, David. Her mother says, "Erin is always a ham for the camera and she is always ready with a smile." The family and their dog. Mei-Ling, live in Port St. Lucie, FL.

In this photo, Shane Walsh, 8, prepares for his duty as ring bearer at his cousin's wedding. Shane, who has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy, which involves all four extremities, uses a wheelchair for mobility. He loves to sing, dance, and make people laugh. Shane attends elementary school, and according to his dad, Patrick, he is on the honor roll every year. Shane lives in Bronxville, NY with his parents, Sandra and Patrick, and older siblings Matthew, 21, and Shannon, 10.

Max loves music. hugs, and especially kisses. Max also enjoys playing with his stuffed animals. He attends therapy and early intervention classes, and according to his mother, he is the light of their family's life. Max lives with his parents, Ilyce and Michael, in Palatine, IL.
