Inxight Software, a Xerox New Enterprise Company, has announced the release of Inxight Site Lens Studio (SLS), an easy-to-use design product for creating and publishing scalable, yet navigable, Web site maps the company calls Site Lenses. With SLS, designers and Webmasters can create, design, and publish a Site Lens, a small Java applet served to their visitors from their Web sites. With all the feature combinations possible, no two Site Lenses need look the same, and all without requiring programming skills, merely the ability to use the simple, yet powerful WYSIWYG editing product, according to the company.

Based on an invention from Xerox PARC and Inxight's award-winning Hyperbolic Tree technology, a Site Lens can represent all of the links and pages of a Web site--hundreds or even thousands of pages--in an interactive, "fish-eye," 3D-like view. A simple mouse drag smoothly changes the point of view, bringing the page title of interest into the central focus area, while others recede toward a context horizon. …
