Southeastern Library Network, Inc. (SOLINET), a nonprofit organization serving 815 libraries, has announced that Robert B. Hulshof has been promoted to the position of OCLC services manager. He has been OCLC services support supervisor since 1996. He has served on various OCLC committees and task forces, and has taught workshops on help desk design and operation. Before joining SOLINET, Hulshof was head librarian at the Goethe-Institut in Atlanta.

He holds a B.A. and secondary education certification in English and German from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, and a master's in librarianship from the University of Washington in Seattle.

In other news from SOLINET, David J. Cohen is now a SOLINET delegate to the OCLC Users Council. Cohen is dean of libraries and academic information services at the College of Charleston in South Carolina. He has been a member of the OCLC Users Council from the South Carolina Library Association, and has served SOLINET as chair of the board of directors.

Cohen holds a B.A. in history and an M.A. in European history from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.L.S. from Drexel University, and a Ph.D. in modem European history from the University of Pennsylvania.

Emily Sheketoff has been named associate executive director for the American Library Association's (ALA) Washington, DC, office. Sheketoff presently advises the assistant secretary of labor for policy.

Sheketoff was deputy assistant secretary for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration from 1994 to 1998. …
