Dixons Shifts Top Store Marketers

The Dixons Stores Group has reshuffled marketing operations across two of its key store chains by appointing Euan Sutherland as marketing director of Currys. He replaces Peter Keenan, who moves across to become marketing director at PC World.

Sutherland, 30, will oversee a marketing team of 40 and take responsibility for all marketing activity for the chain as it bids to bolster its brand.

Previously responsible for brown goods marketing at Currys, Sutherland originally joined DSG in October 1998.

Prior to DSG he worked as European market development manager at Coca-Cola and general manager of impulse marketing at Coca-Cola Schweppes.

He has also held positions with Mars as its UK vending manager as well as its national sales controller.

"Currys is our biggest chain; we needed to focus on developing the brand.

"We want to achieve better brand awareness with our core customers. It was felt my experience at Mars and Coca-Cola would be useful," said Sutherland. …
