Boots Rejigs Key Staff to Focus on Global Growth

Boots the Chemist has promoted Martin Bryant, its director of marketing businesses, to managing director of Boots Retail International. It has appointed its first ever female marketing chief, Zoe Morgan, to replace him.

A major group management reshuffle sees Bryant take charge of Boots' global expansion. The company has stores in Thailand and Japan, and last week announced a [pounds]14m investment in five stores in Taiwan.

Bryant, 48, has been Boots' top marketer for one year. Prior to that, he was stores director. He joined the company in 1989 as director of strategic planning.

Zoe Morgan, director of marketing and merchandise at Boots-owned car parts and cycle retailer, Halfords, starts her new role this week. Morgan, 36, has worked for Boots since 1994. She takes responsibility for strategic direction of the Boots retail brand and all aspects of customer communications.

Meanwhile, Steve Hill becomes director of trading, a new role with responsibility for day-to-day sales and marketing. Hill has held a number of senior marketing positions at Boots, where he is currently director of beauty businesses. …
