Current Drugs, Ltd. has announced that chemical companies selling to the pharmaceutical industry will be able to identify emerging business and partnership opportunities with IDdb3, the newest version of Current Drugs' pharmaceutical-tracking database that is due to be launched next month.

According to the company, the Investigational Drugs database (IDdb) is a world leader in the supply of information on drugs in development. It contains R&D profiles on over 13,600 companies and institutes involved in pharmaceutical development. Of particular interest to chemical intermediates are the database's files on 63,000 patents (which can alert users early to possible business opportunities) and the pipeline status of over 15,000 investigational drugs (enabling users to identify the scale of chemical requirements). Plus, IDdb3 includes over 33,500 chemical structures that are fully substructure searchable for easy identification.

"The new IDdb3 will be an essential resource for companies specializing in custom manufacturing of chemicals," said Alison Tipping, Current Drugs' European sales director.
